Vigilance report on Palmolein case to be submitted on Thursday
The Vigilance court here will consider the follow up probe report submitted by the agency here Thursday.
A new prosecutor will appear in the court in place of the public prosecutor who quit the post in protest against giving clean chit to Oommen Chandy in the case.
Leader of the opposition V.S. Achuthanandan will file a petition to implead in the case.
The scandal surfaced in 1993 with the accountant generals report finding that the import of palmolein caused a loss of over Rs 2 crore to the exchequer and cast serious doubts about the way the decisions to clinch the deal had been taken.
